About Us

 

Espace Mayele was established in 2019 as a platform that empowers young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to share ideas, shape societal discourse and influence national policy on subjects that are critical in promoting socio-economic development of the country and the global sustainable development goals (SDGs).

We aim to achieve this through four main activities: debates in secondary schools and universities; intergenerational dialogues; book clubs and publication of articles on our website. Beyond sharing ideas and learning from each other, through these activities, Espace Mayele equips the youth with skills such as communication (public speaking, debating) and critical thinking and analysis.

Our vision is to contribute in creating an enlightened, open minded, empowered, inspired, eloquent and vibrant youth that will effectively contribute to the national development agenda through their ideas and actions.
